Painting and calligraphy master Mr. Shi Weijia, with his unique cursive calligraphy, attracts numerous journalists, artists and visitors to appreciate and scramble to buy. Mr. Shi Weijia’s cursive calligraphy has its own style and characteristics. His works are pretty both in forms and implication. His handwriting is vigorous and forceful. With different forms of stroke, though his calligraphy is silent, it seems has the rhythm of music. The beginning and the end of whole length of calligraphy echo with each other, coherent in structures, his calligraphy likes running rivers and flowing clouds, fully reflecting the calligrapher’s happiness, satisfaction and excitement. Strokes with irregular widths and different shades, and hollow strokes create strong sense of dynamism. The whole length use ink with different shades. Strokes of various forms look like floating clouds and spring rain; while the hollow strokes resemble breeze, showing endless appeals. His works have the romance of Huaisu school of cursive calligraphy, and the trace of master Zhang Xu, as well as the style of Mao Zedong calligraphy.
Calligraphy is the art writing in black ink on white paper, affixed with red stamp and framed. The seemingly simple combination demonstrates infinite changes and rich forms.
Chinese calligraphy is the art of Chinese characters, it has long history and rich styles. Theoretically, the strokes of Chinese characters should be straight, but the forms of strokes are diversified. Calligraphy refers to writing Chinese characters powerfully, coherently, delicately, elegantly, forcefully, roughly, natural and freely with rich implications, and harmonious, symmetrical, balanced and contact in structure with sharp contrast.
Among all schools of Chinese calligraphy, cursive calligraphy gives the most dynamic feeling. Its structure resembles sitting, laying, running, bowing, dancing, whining, drunkenness and making a scene of people, with various forms.
Calligrapher Mr. Shen Yinmo once said all people in the world recognized Chinese calligraphy as the highest form of art, because calligraphy can show amazing miracles, it is colorless but showing in brilliant forms, it is silent but demonstrating the harmony of music, attracting people and feasting our eyes.
The display of Chinese calligraphy in this Art Expo feasted the eyes of foreigners, and stimulated their interests in Chinese calligraphy, we hope the Chinese calligraphy can carry forward in the world.
